At Dressler Family Dental we treat patients of all ages and provide treatment options that fit your specific needs.  By offering clear aligner orthodontics, we aim to help as many of our patients as possible achieve a confident, healthy, and beautiful smile!

Having properly aligned teeth delivers many benefits:

Clear aligners are a type of orthodontic treatment that straightens your teeth without the need for traditional metal braces. They are made from a clear, smooth plastic material that is virtually invisible when worn. These aligners are custom-designed for your teeth using advanced technology. Each set of aligners is worn for a specific period, gradually moving your teeth into their desired position. By following the prescribed treatment plan, you can achieve a straighter smile while enjoying the freedom to remove the aligners when eating or brushing your teeth.

FAQs

Before starting clear aligner therapy to straighten your teeth, it is important to have a thorough dental exam.  During this exam, we will provide an oral cancer screening, check the health of your bone and gums, evaluate your teeth for any cavities, cracks, or defects that need treatment prior to straightening your teeth, and take note of any areas of gum recession.  We evaluate the way your teeth come together when you bite, make note of any areas of wear on your teeth, and evaluate how hard certain teeth are hitting when biting.  We examine the health of your TMJ or jaw joint and the muscles of your jaw and face.  We check the shape of the arch of your mouth and the midlines of your face and teeth. We evaluate your tongue which can give indications about potential airway issues, snoring, or sleep apnea.  We also make note of any existing dental treatment in your mouth such as implants and crowns.

Clear aligner therapy is simple to start. After evaluating your oral health, Dr Dressler will take a digital impression of your mouth with our state-of-the-art scanner.  We will take a few additional photographs and upload them into our software.  Using SureSmile or Invisalign software, we customize a plan to help you achieve the results you desire.  Dr Dressler is a certified SureSmile and Invisalign provider, and the trays and treatment are backed by a board-certified orthodontist, so you can feel comfortable knowing you’re getting the best care in a setting and with a team that you already know and love.

After this exam, we can recommend the best option for your orthodontic needs. At this point, we will be able to give a ballpark estimate of how long it will take to complete your treatment.  If you’re ready to move forward to getting the smile you want, we will scan your teeth with our state-of-the-art digital scanner, upload the data into our software, and come up with a treatment plan.  We will order the aligner trays from the lab, and a few weeks later, we will see you back to teach you all about how to use them and get the best results possible.

You’ll wear your aligners for 22 hours per day; you only take them out for eating, brushing and flossing.  Maintaining good oral hygiene throughout your treatment is crucial for optimal results. After a set amount of time, usually 10-14 days, you’ll switch to the next aligner.  We label everything for you to make this easy and understandable at home; and we are always available to answer any of your questions or address your concerns along the way.  We will see you back in the office periodically (how often depends on the length and complexity of your treatment).  At the end of your treatment, we will give you retainers to wear to make sure your teeth stay they belong, and we will include a whitening kit as well to make your new smile shine to its full potential!

We look forward to making your smile shine.
