Veneers and Composite Bonding
Dental veneers are a popular cosmetic dentistry solution that can transform your smile and boost your self-confidence. Whether you’re looking to fix chipped teeth, discoloration, or gaps, dental veneers may be the solution you’ve been seeking.
Dental veneers and composite bondings are thin, custom-made coverings that go over the front surface of your teeth to enhance the appearance of your teeth. They are typically made of porcelain or resin composite materials and are bonded to the tooth’s enamel structure. Dental veneers can effectively address a range of dental imperfections, such as cracked or chipped teeth, stained or discolored teeth, misaligned or uneven teeth, and gaps between teeth. Veneers provide a natural-looking solution for achieving a radiant smile.
After a consultation with Dr. Dressler to discuss the right treatment option for you, this procedure can be completed in one visit. Dr. Dressler will prepare the tooth surface by removing a small amount of enamel from the front of the tooth to make space for the veneer. The veneers will be created with composite directly in your mouth, or with porcelain using our CEREC technology. Porcelain veneers are bonded to the tooth surface with a dental cement or adhesive. Next, any necessary adjustments are made to ensure a comfortable and natural fit.
Dental veneers offer a multitude of benefits for those seeking to enhance their smiles. First and foremost, veneers can dramatically improve the appearance of teeth, providing a more symmetrical, uniform, and aesthetically pleasing smile. Porcelain veneers are stain-resistant, which means they maintain their natural brightness over time, even when exposed to staining substances like coffee or tea. Lastly, dental veneers are cared for just like your natural teeth with brushing, flossing, and regular dental check-ups.
Whitening
Do you want a brighter, whiter, more confident smile? At Dressler Family Dental, we have two options that are both convenient for our patients. The first option is a custom fit tray that fits your teeth precisely. They are designed to hold a prescription strength whitening gel that removes stains and discoloration from your teeth. The trays are soft and flexible, and comfortable to wear. The trays are reusable, so we recommend you keep them for touch up whitening when you notice staining or discoloration again.
The second option for whitening is a preformed, prefilled disposable tray kit that you take home and use for about 20 minutes a day for 5-7 days.
No matter which option you choose, whitening trays are incredibly easy to use. We always recommend having your teeth professionally cleaned in our office prior to starting whitening. This will remove any plaque and calculus (or tartar) on your teeth so the whitening gel can completely get to the tooth structure and whiten the whole surface of the tooth. At home, you should brush and floss your teeth prior to putting the trays in your mouth. We will give you specific instructions on how to use the trays based on your whitening system. It’s important to follow the directions; leaving whitening trays on too long or using them too frequently can lead to tooth sensitivity and gum irritation. After finishing your whitening treatment, you’ll have a brighter, whiter, more confident smile that you love! Remember, the results of tooth whitening are not permanent, but with proper care, can last a long time. Reach out to us to learn more about how to brighten your smile!
